Lightning Electrical has run residential and commercial electrical work out of Hutto since 1987, under Texas Electrical Contractor licence TECL - 24811. Everything below is work we actually do, described the way the office explains it on the phone.

Service upgrades and rebuilds
When the letter arrives saying coverage will not renew until the panel is replaced, this is the call to make. We specialize in replacing outdated Federal Pacific and Zinsco equipment on residential panels, full commercial service rebuilds and multifamily property upgrades, with the City of Austin permitting and Austin Energy experience to keep the inspection moving.

Residential
Panel and meter upgrades, and lighting that runs from chandeliers and recessed cans to landscape and pool lighting. It also covers the calls that do not fit a neat category: a whole house surge protector, a portable generator interlock kit, a code violation correction before a house sale, or a wiring inspection a buyer's agent asked for.

Ten fully stocked trucks and a company owned 35 foot boom lift mean a dark lot gets fixed on the schedule we quote, not on whatever lift happens to be free that week. Install, repair or retrofit, on a lot of any size, with an estimate back inside 24 business hours.

- New constructionElectrical systems for new commercial construction, quoted competitively enough that owners use us for price comparison. The scope runs from panel and meter upgrades and 3-phase wiring to CAT5 data cable and modular furniture hook-ups, on projects that have included Firestone Auto, Sonic Drive-In and Wells Fargo.
- Remodel and repairLighting upgrades, rewiring for modern appliances, faulty outlet troubleshooting and circuit panel upgrades, done around a business that stays open through the work. Clients on this list include Target, Torchy's Tacos, Corner Bakery, Schlotzsky's and several multifamily property groups.

- EV chargingResidential and commercial EV charging station installation from an EVO Charge certified team. A recent commercial job put a PowerFlex charging post into a parking lot, wired to the same dedicated circuit standard as any other commercial load.
- GeneratorsWhole home generator installation for a permanent standby unit, or a portable generator interlock kit, which wires a switch and inlet so a portable unit plugs straight into the panel during an outage instead of running extension cords through a window.
Retrofits and add-ons
Upgrading what is already installed, or powering something that arrived after the house or building did.
- LED and retrofitsFluorescent to LED conversions, indoors and outdoors, for commercial parking lot poles and residential fixtures already in place. The retrofit uses the same Square D, GE, Eaton and Lithonia equipment we run on new installs, with estimates that typically turn around inside 24 business hours.
- Spas and hot tubsPower installation for a spa or hot tub you already bought, run to the manufacturer's electrical spec and working alongside local spa companies, including our named partner Southern Leisure Spas, so the dealer's install date and our wiring date land in the same week.
