What people get wrong
The tub or spa usually gets ordered first. The delivery date gets set, sometimes a deposit is already down, and only then does anyone call an electrician to ask what it needs. By that point the panel might have no spare capacity, the run to the patio might be longer than expected, or the spot the homeowner already picked for the tub is the worst possible place to route a circuit to. None of that is a problem if it gets caught early. All of it is a problem if it gets caught the morning the spa truck shows up.
Spa power is not a job you can quote accurately over the phone from a brochure spec sheet, because the real variables are the house, not the spa: where the panel is, how far the tub sits from it, and what is already running on that circuit. That is exactly why we start with a site visit rather than a number pulled out of the air.

How we work
We run a dedicated, GFCI-protected circuit for the spa with a disconnect installed within reach of the tub, which is standard trade practice for equipment that sits outdoors near water. Where that circuit gets landed and how the disconnect gets mounted depends on the site, and this is the part Bryan Lorello described after we did his: "I appreciated the hands-on approach to quoting the work, showing me a handful of different options to set up the spa. The guys that came out to do the work were courteous and professional, checking in with us regularly to ensure we were happy with the set-ups as they came together." Showing a homeowner a handful of real routing options, rather than one fixed answer, is how we actually work this job.
We also work directly alongside local spa companies on delivery day, including our named partner Southern Leisure Spas. That means the power is landed and tested before the tub is set in place, not scheduled around it after the fact, so the spa company and our crew are not working against each other on the same afternoon.
Chapter 03
Aftercare
Once the tub is running, the GFCI is the thing worth understanding rather than ignoring. A GFCI protects against a ground fault by cutting power the instant it senses current going somewhere it shouldn't, and a nuisance trip on a spa circuit is usually the GFCI doing exactly its job in response to moisture, a failing heater element, or age in the tub's own wiring, not a fault in our installation. If it trips more than occasionally, that is worth a call rather than just resetting it and moving on.

While the panel is already open
A spa circuit is rarely the only thing on the list
If the site visit turns up an older panel with no room for a dedicated spa circuit, that is the same conversation behind our service upgrades and rebuilds work, folded into the same visit. A spa install often comes up alongside other residential electrical work in the same backyard, and if the patio around the tub could use better lighting once the trench is already open, that is worth asking about at the same time as our LED and retrofit work.
